What we do
One contractor for the whole property.
Paving and masonry are the biggest part of what Courtyard does. The same company handles the roof, siding, gutters, chimney and foundation work most properties end up needing alongside them, so one call covers the whole outside of the house.
Residential and commercial, across New Jersey
Patios and foundation work are the two we get called for most, and on the structural side it is usually a repair rather than a full replacement. Masonry repair and commercial paving sit alongside all of the above.

How a job runs
Most failures are base failures.
A driveway that cracks in its third winter and a patio that goes wavy usually have the same cause underneath. These are the stages that decide it.

Dig to real subgrade
Topsoil and soft fill come out. Cutting deep enough at the start is what stops settlement later, and it is the stage most often shortened.

Build the base in lifts
Crushed stone goes down in layers and each layer gets compacted before the next. One thick uncompacted lift looks identical on day one and behaves nothing like it in year three.

Send the water somewhere
Surfaces get pitched away from the house and the edges get restrained so the field cannot creep. Water that sits is water that freezes, lifts and cracks.
